Welcome to your Red November Mink Collection Hair Care Guide
Before installing your Red November Mink Collection you should wash and condition the hair. Yes, shampoo is necessary because keeping your hair clean increases the longevity. Your cleansing products should be SULFATE FREE. Always wash hair in a downward motion away from the weft to avoid accidental tangling. Use a dime size of conditioner on each bundle (yes, only a dime size). After conditioning the hair, please make sure to rinse the conditioner COMPLETELY out to avoid brittle, dull hair. Hair should be be washed weekly but before washing make sure that the hair is detangled by gently brushing hair (paddle back brush) starting at the ends and working your way up.
This is how your bundles should look with only a dime sized amount of conditioner on it.
Heat should be kept at a minimum. Letting your hair air dry rather than blow drying after washing is recommended. Applying heat to curly textures (deep wave, water wave) will make your curl pattern looser. Yes, the curl pattern will come back after washing but it will not come back as the same curl. ALWAYS use heat protectant when applying heat to hair extensions. Think of it as protecting your investment.
Coloring the Hair
ALWAYS, ALWAYS, ALWAYS take your hair to a professional to avoid damage to your hair investment.
Curls for the Girls Maintenance
Maintaining your curly bundles (deep wave, water wave) is similar to maintaining your natural hair. You should use cold water when washing. While the conditioner is in the hair, make sure the hair is detangled from root to tip by starting at the ends and working your way to the top. If you do not like big hair but love curls, please apply your favorite curl defining creme while the hair is wet. Brush through the hair after applying to make sure that the product is evenly applied throughout the hair. You can do this more than once a week as long as you also wash it weekly to avoid product buildup. CURLY HAIR REQUIRES THE MOST MAINTENANCE.
Going to Bed
When going to bed, you should ALWAYS wear a satin/silk scarf or bonnet to maintain the shine and luster of the hair.
